Podcast and dialogue recording

At a fixed table with broadcast arms we capture conversations, interviews and panel talks — calm pacing, even levels and export in the format your platform expects.

Hosts talking at a table with podcast microphones.

Podcast listeners notice immediately when someone sits too far from the mic or when HVAC sits above the voice. At our dialogue setup on Overtoom 301 in Amsterdam we aim for clear speech for two to 4 participants, with headphone monitoring so everyone can behave naturally.

This service targets spoken content: interview series, internal company podcasts, panel discussions and host dialogues. Sung music belongs in vocal recording; episodes with jingles can move to mixing once dialogue is locked.

How it works

  1. Format

Describe speaker count, target length and platform (Spotify, YouTube, intranet). We reply within 2 business days with slot and price.

  2. Table setup

Mic height, pop filters, headphones and a warm-up round so levels are stable before the real recording.

  3. Record

We mark takes and silences; you interrupt when needed. Water breaks are part of the plan — dry throats show on tape.

  4. Edit and export

Basic edit: obvious mistakes, long silences trimmed, levels even. Export as WAV and compressed file to your specs; heavy post on request.

Room and microphones

The podcast table sits in a quieter corner of the building, with acoustic treatment and fixed seats for 4 people. Each speaker gets a dedicated recorder channel; we avoid shared mics so editing stays simple later. Headphones are optional but recommended for panels so nobody shouts to hear others.

There is no audience gallery — the space is compact, close to a radio interview setting. Phone video is fine if people stay quiet around the table; professional video production is outside our scope.

Who it is for

Teams launching an internal podcast, freelance interviewers, researchers with expert panels, narrative non-fiction makers and hosts batching a season. Minimum age to book yourself is 18; younger guests in episodes only with parent/guardian consent and suitable content.

We do not produce misleading advertorial without clear disclosure; tell us if an episode is sponsored before we record. Guest release and legal points are covered in terms and conditions and privacy policy.

Host preparation

Good dialogue starts before the studio:

  • Outline or question list per episode
  • Guest names and pronunciation (for intros)
  • Maximum length and segment structure
  • Intro/outro music as separate files if used

Send materials at least two business days ahead via contact. For multi-episode series we block consecutive slots to save setup time.

Basic edit vs extended post

Standard delivery trims long silences, removes clear false starts and targets podcast loudness (around -16 LUFS stereo, no aggressive limiting). We remove crosstalk and filler words only if you order it — some shows want natural speech.

Extended edit (chapters, music under dialogue, noise reduction on field tape) is quoted separately or via mixing when music beds are heavy. Mastering for musical intros can go through mastering.

On-site practicalities

Monday–Friday 09:30–18:30, Saturday by appointment. Closed on Sunday. Trams 1 and 7 stop at Overtoom; from that stop it is about a 2-minute walk to number 301. From Amsterdam Centraal, tram 1 towards Osdorp takes roughly 15 minutes. By bike from Leidseplein it is about 6 minutes via Overtoom. Parking: 2 at the entrance — say if you need a car slot. Water and coffee in the studio; please keep strong-smelling food outside because of microphones.

FAQ

How many guests fit comfortably?

The table suits two to 4 speakers. Five gets tight; for larger panels we discuss another layout or external location.

Do you record remote guests on Zoom?

Standard service is in-person at the table. Remote links are sometimes possible but quality varies; discuss upfront via contact.

Do you deliver show notes or transcripts?

We deliver a short technical note, not a full transcript. Choose transcription partners yourself; we supply audio.

Can I bring my own intro music?

Yes if you hold rights. We bed it in edit or route to mixing if it gets complex.

What if a guest arrives late?

Studio time runs from the booked slot. Remaining time may compress; extension may be possible at €78 if the calendar allows.
